2026 Washington DC Malanka Zabava
Welcome to the 2026 Washington DC Malanka Zabava, a cherished celebration of culture, tradition, and community spirit. This year’s Malanka proudly presents the Debutantes, young women whose grace, dedication, and achievements embody the strength and future of our Ukrainian-American community.
Rooted in a time-honored tradition that dates back to early 1900s Ukraine, the presentation of debutantes has long been a symbol of coming of age—recognizing the promise of a new generation and the continuity of cultural pride.
Tonight, we celebrate not only their accomplishments but also the values they carry forward: resilience, compassion, and a deep connection to their heritage. The evening’s proceeds will benefit the Taras Shevchenko School of Ukrainian Studies of Greater Washington, supporting educational programs that preserve and promote the Ukrainian language, history, and identity for generations to come.
Together, let us honor these remarkable young women and uplift them as they pursue their dreams and continue the legacy of Ukrainian excellence in our community.
